Build the roots. Earn the return.

01 — Who we help

Physical therapy built for combat athletes.

Traditional rehab often focuses on getting you back to everyday life.

Root & Iron is built around getting you back to training.

  • Knee injuries & pain

ACL, meniscus, patellar and post-op knees rebuilt for guard, shots and takedowns.

  • Shoulder injuries & pain

Labrum, rotator cuff and instability — the joints that take the most punishment on the mats.

  • Back pain

Low back, disc and stiffness issues that flare up under load, bridging and scrambles.

  • Mobility restrictions

Hips, ankles and thoracic spine that won't let you get into the positions your game needs.

  • Strength deficits

The weak links behind the pain — found, measured, and trained back up.

  • Return to sport

The gap between "cleared by your doctor" and actually rolling, sparring and lifting hard again.

02 — The Root & Iron approach

Build the roots. Earn the return.

A tree has to set deep roots before it grows. Rehab works the same way — foundation first, then the load.

  1. Reduce pain & restore movement

Identify what is actually limiting you and rebuild the mobility and movement capacity you need.

  2. Build strength

Progressively strengthen the injured area and address the weaknesses holding your performance back.

  3. Prepare for the mats

Bridge the gap between traditional rehabilitation and the real demands of combat sports.

  4. Return stronger

Get back to training with more strength, more mobility, more confidence and more physical capacity than before.

03 — Why Root & Iron

Rehab shouldn't end when you're just “good enough.”

The goal isn't simply getting you through everyday activities without pain. The goal is preparing your body for the demands of the sport you love.

All delivered through individualized, one-on-one care — never a room full of patients on a shared schedule.

  • Evidence-based physical therapy

Treatment driven by what the research actually supports, not tradition or guesswork.

  • Strength & conditioning principles

Real programming and real load — because tissue adapts to what you ask of it.

  • Mobility development

Range of motion you own and control under load, not range you only have on a table.

  • Combat-sport-specific preparation

Rehab that ends where your sport begins — rolling, sparring, scrambling, competing.

04 — Meet your physical therapist

I train the same way you do.

I'm Rob — a physical therapist with extensive experience treating orthopedic and musculoskeletal conditions, and a personal understanding of what combat sports and heavy training actually ask of a body.

I've spent time on the mats and under the bar. I know the difference between being cleared to walk around pain-free and being ready to take a shot, post on a bad shoulder, or survive a hard round. That gap is where most rehab stops. It's where Root & Iron starts.

Every plan is built one-on-one, around your injury, your sport and the training you're trying to get back to.

  • BJJ
  • Muay Thai
  • MMA
  • Wrestling
  • Strength Training

Your injury doesn't have to keep you off the mats.

Get out of pain. Get stronger. Get back to training.
